All my life I have liked to have fun more than anything else. And all my life I have liked people who like to have fun. That is why, all my life, I have loved my Uncle Mark.
Last summer my mom sister and I went to North Carolina to visit my uncle. Mark lived in Raleigh with his wife Jinmei (Jin-may) and their son Leo. Leo was 9 months old at the time. Leo had a fever and it was the first time Leo was sick in his life. And even though Leo was sick, Mark still let everyone have fun.
The first day we went to the park. We saw little fish in the stream on the side of the trail. It was a warm day and there were birds on the electric lines up above. We went to a playground and Leo went on the swing for the first time in his life. After the playground, we went to a small lake. At the lake, I saw a patch of four-leaf clovers in a little marshy area. I picked up a four-leaf clover and as I picked it up, another started to go down into the lake. It was like a rope with a bar in the middle and as you pull one side of the rope, the other side goes down. Then, two four-leaf clovers on one stem came up. It was a lot good luck.
Later it rained. It rained through the second day but stopped in the afternoon. As much as I like playing outside, Mark made inside fun too. We played games and told funny stories. We drew a plan to make a ladder go up the living room wall and into a door that would lead to a room on the second floor.
While we were inside, I remembered when he lived in Portland, Maine and how he didn't have a yard to play in. But instead of doing nothing, he taught me a new game that was really interesting. I also remembered how boring it was in the city when it rained and how much fun I was having here. It was surprising that in the city I just sit when it rains and here it was entertaining and I had something to do -- something fun to do.
And all this time, Leo was sick but Uncle Mark still could have fun and fit me into his day. All my life I have looked up to Mark and he has always been a great person to me. He is funny and always wants to play a game. I love Uncle Mark.
